The EU Graduates Fund

History of the EU

Written by University of Sydney PhD candidate and EU member 2000-2003, Meredith Lake, Proclaiming Jesus Christ as Lord was launched by Don Robinson at the 75th Anniversary celebration event on 8 October 2005. It is now available for purchase.

Overview

"This history traces the origins of the EU, its growth from its foundation to the present and the theological, intellectual and political issues that have affected its development. It tells how the EU has sought, from its very beginning, to take the gospel of Christ to the University and beyond." — from the Preface.

124 pages long, the history features:

  • A look at the development of the structures and goals of the EU from 1930 to the present;
  • A particular focus on the various campus missions, from debates between T.C. Hammond and Professor John Anderson in the '40s, to the Unfailing God mission of 2005;
  • 15 Interviews with EU members from over the years;
  • A timeline of major events;
  • Tables of the executive and Graduates Fund staff, past and present.

Through all this the reader can see God at work over these past 75 years through the EU, as members have sought to proclaim, not themselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord.
