The EU Graduates Fund

Who we are

The EU Graduates Fund:

On Sydney University campus,

Sydney University, one of the leading Australian Universities, has a current student population of around 40,000. In time, these students will be the leaders and policy makers in Sydney and Australia. It is to these gifted students that the EU Graduates Fund ministers.

In partnership with the Sydney University Evangelical Union,

The Sydney University Evangelical Union (EU) has long been the major Christian student group on campus. It desires to present Jesus Christ to the University, to encourage Christians to stand firm in Christ, and to prepare for a lifetime of Christian service after University. Since the 1930s, God has been at work through the EU in growing and maturing many University students for Christ. At present over 600 students are involved in the activities of the EU.

To build Christian leaders to equip the church of Jesus Christ into the future.

Over the past 17 years the EU has invited staff to work in partnership alongside students. It is the EU Graduates Fund who employs, trains and bears responsibility for these staff. Staff serve the EU by working with particular faculties, where they support student leaders, run small groups, prepare Bible study material, train students in different aspects of ministry, teach from the Bible at Public Meetings and conferences, and work with teams of students to run particular events throughout the year.

While the Grads Fund exists primarily to serve the EU, providing staff and resources by invitation, the work of building Christian leaders does not finish as students graduate from university. The Grads Fund seeks to continue to support and train EU graduates through the annual graduates conference (Grads Con), and by making the Christian resources developed at university available to graduates.

Furthermore, the majority of EU Graduates Fund staff, while serving the EU, are also being trained and built to be Christian leaders through the Howard Guinness Training Project.

The EU Graduates Fund is a not for profit company. At present it has an annual budget of over $480,000 and employs 17 staff. The team is made up of a small core of long-term Senior staff - responsible for the running of the Grads Fund and the supervision of staff in training - and a number of staff undertaking the Howard Guinness Project. At present there are 12 Howard Guinness "Projectiles".

A committed Board oversees the long-term vision, financial situation and direction of the Fund. All funds are raised through the donations of its generous supporters.
