The EU Graduates Fund

Our Vision

To flood God's church in Sydney, Australia and beyond with lay and vocational Christian leaders who are biblically and theologically mature, servant hearted, and innovative ministry strategists.

Opportunity: Building future generations of Christian leaders

We have identified a significant opportunity which has grown out of our work on campus at Sydney University.

For over a decade, the EU Graduates Fund has been providing staff to work with the Sydney University Evangelical Union. Through this partnership, we have seen young Christian students formed and grown in maturity. We have also seen a steady flow of students come to Christ. Each year, over one hundred of these students graduate and go on to use what they've gained on campus in serving God's church.

Opportunity: Training future generations of Christian leaders

Our dream is to see a substantial flow of Christians who leave university and carry the skills and experience in Christian ministry formed in their time on campus into the broader community.

It's a vision for building future generations of Christian leaders who will serve God, under the leading of his Holy Spirit, in Sydney, Australia and beyond.

Strategy: How do we make it happen?

At the centre is a process of personal training, supervision and mentoring.

Our core of theologically trained, experienced senior staff train, supervise and mentor a multiplying team of short term trainee staff recruited through our two-year apprenticeship ministry training program - the Howard Guiness Project (HGP).

These HGP trainees, in turn, teach, train and work alongside Christian students in their ministry on campus. Through this process, trainee staff and students alike grow to be biblically mature, servant-hearted, strategically thoughtful Christian leaders.

They gain experience in key areas of Christian ministry such as:

Targets: Fulfilling our plans step by step

The key factor which both enables and requires growth is the size of the EU. There are opportunities for the EU's ministry to expand such that there is a viable witness to Christ in most of the faculties on the campus.

To support this, our plan is to gradually increase the number of senior staff working for the Graduates Fund, so that we are able to provide the supervision and training required for the multiplying trainee staff team needed to serve a growing EU. The financial support for this program comes from individual Christian supporters.
